Steve Lacey – the author of this article – is a friend of mine.
We first became friends after he wrote another article about me and my buddy Kon Papaioannou for a ‘Two of Us‘ feature back in 2002 (see it here). Subsequently he has moved to Sydney and even joined our church!
I think it was only because we were friends that Steve asked for my advice regarding getting his abs back. I am really no weight-loss guru. Even so, he included my advice in an article he wrote seven weeks before his 50th birthday, entitled “I want to see my abs one last time“.
The article included advice from me and three real weight-loss experts and at the bottom of the article there was a poll where online readers could vote for whose advice Steve should take. Thanks to an appeal to my 32,000 Twitter followers I won the poll and Steve signed up for seven weeks of dieting and training under my guidance.
The results are spelled out in the article below. It was hardly a triumph for me. Even so, I think if I hadn’t broken his rib so early in the piece we might have seen better results.
